So I've got 195 miles on the bike when I notice a giant flippin nail in my back tire.
I bought a plug kit, thinking I'd plug it and monitor it closely for the next 6 thousand miles or so. Instead, when I was trying to use the awl to clean out the hole for repair, I can't get it all the way in. The nail went in almost horizontally and didn't pierce the carcass. Now I'll just have to monitor it closely for, oh the next 6 thousand miles or so.
At any rate, I have a plug kit and motorcycle sized 12V air pump under my seat now. Cheap insurance.
